Hey there. So, are you a fan of Lebanese dishes and don’t know what to do? Don't worry I will tell you the recipe for the most famous Lebanese dish.

i.e   Kunafa

So, without wasting our time let's get straight into it.


Kunnafa recipe




Ingredients:

  • Saffron essence(1/2tsp)
  • Lemon juice(3/4 tsp)
  • Water(1 and 1/2 cups)
  • Sugar(1 and 1/2 cups)
  • Vermicelli(300 grams) (When cooking in the oven) Pheni (200g) (when cooking without oven)Pistachio chopped(1/2 cup)
  • Almond chopped(1/2 cup)
  • Grated mozzarella cheese(1 cup)
  • Khoya(2 cups)
  • Yellow food color(1/4 cups)
  • Butter(4-5 tbsp)


Procedure(With oven):

  • In a pan add water and sugar.
  • Now add saffron essence and lemon juice to it.
  • Cook it on medium-low flame until the thick sugar syrup is formed or for about 40-45 minutes.
  • Set the sugar syrup aside.
  • Now in a bowl add crushed vermicelli.
  • Add butter to it and mix it properly
  • Now take half of the vermicelli out.
  • Add yellow food color to vermicelli.
  • Add colored vermicelli to the baking pan and spread it evenly.
  • Now add grated mozzarella cheese and crumbled khoya to that baking pan and spread it evenly
  • Now add the remaining vermicelli to that baking pan.
  • Bake it for 20 minutes at 180 degrees Celcius preheat the oven
  • Take the baking pan out.
  • Pour the sugar syrup into it.
  • Sprinkle chopped pistachios and chopped almonds for garnishing.


Procedure(Without oven):

  • In a pan add water and sugar.
  • Now add saffron essence and lemon juice to it.
  • Cook it on medium-low flame until the thick sugar syrup is formed or for about 40-45 minutes.
  • Set the sugar syrup aside.
  • Now in a deep pan add crushed pheni and spread it evenly.
  • Mix butter in it.
  • Take one-half of pheni out.
  • Now spread grated mozzarella cheese and crumbled khoya to the deep pan.
  • Add the other half of pheni to it and spread it evenly.
  • Take a pot, add 1 pack of salt, place steamer rack, and preheat for about 20 minutes on medium flame.
  • Don’t forget to Cover the pot
  • Now place kunafa and bake it in preheat pot for 18 minutes.
  • Take the deep pan out.
  • Sprinkle chopped pistachios and chopped almonds for garnishing.
